The New York Consulate General’s Town Hall meetings have grown to be very popular with nationals in the area of coverage for whom it has become an important platform for receiving valuable fresh information about the home government’s policies that affect their lives.
They also see the meetings, which are always uncensored, as opportunity to ask questions about issues of concern to them and receive frank answers to such questions from designated officials.
The initials Town Hall meetings were held at Nigeria House, New York, the seat of the Consulate but the last meeting marked the commencement of taking the parleys to the nationals where they reside. New Jersey was the host of the first meeting outside New York, and Cleveland, Ohio will be next on Friday, November 17.
As expected, consular issues and other related matters within the purview of the Consulate would be addressed by the team from the Consulate in New York.
