Automobile distributor, Coscharis Group, has announced plans to unveil the Jaquar XE, a sports saloon model at the forthcoming TECH+ Conference and Exhibitions billed for 24 and 25 July at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island.
Abiona Babarinde, General Manager, Marketing & Corporate Services, Coscharis Group, made this disclosure recently during an interactive forum on the TECH+ Conference and Exhibitions.
According to him, the launch highlights the importance the company attaches to technological advancement which is what the Conference showcases.

Mr. Babarinde also hinted that select guests to TECH+ will have the pleasure of first-hand feel of the Jaquar XE model at the conference.
His words, “We are offering free test drive, but for only interested individuals who register for TECH+ Conference and Exhibitions. We require anyone with interest in this activation to provide us with his or her details, which should include basically name, email, mobile line and address to enable us work out the logistics; we would equally come to TECH+ with our test drive cards for each person to fill before we arrange the drive during or after the conference.”

The Jaquar XE, which production started in April this year, is a four door saloon car, and is the first compact executive Jaguar since the 2009 model year X-Type as well as the first of several Jaguar models to be built using Jaguar’s new modular aluminium architecture. This platform allows the Jaguar XE to feature either rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive configurations, and it is the first car in its segment with an aluminium monocoque structure.
The Jaquar XE is powered by the new Jaguar Land Rover 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine range called Ingenium, as well as a Ford-sourced 2.0 litre turbocharged petrol engine and the Jaguar AJ-V6 3.0-litre supercharged V6 petrol engine used by the F-Type. The V6 engines features in higher performance variants.
The Ingenium 2.0-litre engine family will come on both petrol and diesel variants and in a range of different power outputs. The 2.0-litre diesel producing 163 PS (120 kW; 161 hp) plays a part in reducing the overall averaged fuel consumption and carbon emission figures of new Jaguars, being capable of beating the 25 km/L barrier, and producing CO2emissions of 99 g/km.
Meanwhile, all is now set for the take-off of Nigeria’s first-ever all-technology conference. With the theme, ““Leadership in Digital Technology”, TECH+ will feature gaming sessions, exhibitions, the digital school, programming, plenary and break-out sessions as well as panel discussions to be led by high profile speakers drawn from local and global brands. Some of the notable speakers include Jim McKelvey (co-founder of Square), Wael Fakharany (Google X Middle East and Africa) and Nicolas Martin, CEO, Jumia Africa among others.
Attendees at Tech+ will include technology consumers and businesses, manufacturers of products, service providers across diverse segments of the information and communication technology (ICT) industry and ancillary fields of human endeavour, hardware designers, manufacturers, innovators and policy makers, among others.
