Anxiety gripped residents of Akure, Ondo State capital, Tuesday, following the public appearance of the deposed Deji of Akure, Prince Adesina Adepoju, five years after he was dethroned and banished from the town by the government.
The dethroned monarch’s public appearance in the town, however, followed a case he instituted to challenge his dethronement and installation of the new Deji of Akure, Oba Ogunlade Aladetoyinbo, and the Ondo State Government at an Akure High Court.
Adepoju, who left the court in a convoy, danced from the court to his family compound located at Odo Ijoka Street, Akure, where he addressed his loyalists who were mainly members of the Osupa Ruling House.
The deposed monarch in the suit claimed that he was wrongly removed by the state government and sought an order of the court declaring him as the Deji of Akure.
