Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, on Sunday, August 25, 2024, at the Government House Chapel, thanked God and Bayelsans over his electoral victory at the Supreme Court, Abuja.
Senator Diri, while appreciating God and the people, also reiterated that his administration would pursue the establishment of an independent power plant to ensure steady electricity supply in the State.
He said, “We are on the drive for electricity, and we are very sure by God’s grace, we will get Bayelsa into having independent electricity in this State
“It comes in stages. We have started it. We have domesticated the law signed by President Tinubu last year so we can generate power and distribute it without the Federal Government,” Governor Diri stated.
The Governor had earlier returned to Yenagoa into the waiting hands of jubilant supporters at the Bayelsa International airport.
