Mobilization for the Dr. Akil Khalfani for United States Congress 2022 has continued to gather momentum with several networks working to ensure that he secures the ticket of the Democratic Party at the party’s primary on June 7, 2022 to represent the 10th Congressional District of New Jersey in the November election.
Dr. Khalfani, a Professor of Sociology and Director of the Africana Institute of Essex County College, Newark, New Jersey, is running with the promise of bringing about change in the manner and level of representation of the District in Washington.
In his manifesto, the social, cultural and political activist who, many testify that he has impacted the community positively over the years, pledges that he will be in the forefront of advocacy for a more vibrant Economy, for rapid post-COVID-19 Recovery and for Equality in the polity.
He promises to be closer to the people of the District and, to be their vibrant voice for change in the areas of job creation, union protection, fair infrastructural development and inflation prevention and planning, as well as in the area of environmental recovery, education reforms and more impactful foreign policy.
Dr. Khalfani, who has been honored severally for his selfless services to the community is also assuring that he will fight for housing equity, criminal justice reforms, voting rights protection and healthcare for all, urging the constituents to recognize that they are the ones who can bring about the change they desire and deserve, with their votes, first on June 7, 2022 during the primary and during the Congressional election in November 8, 2022.
