Dr. Henry Emeka Inegbu becomes an Honorary Senior Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria

Dr. Henry Emeka Inegbu, Head, Agric Business, Small & Medium Enterprises Investment Scheme (AGSMIES) of the Nigeria Incentive-Based Risk Sharing System for Agricultural Lending (NIRSAL) MicroFinance Bank, a major intervention program of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for growing the economy and generating employment, has become an Honorary Senior Member of The Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN).

A Mathematics graduate of the Abia State University, Nigeria, Dr. Inegbu was among a select number of distinguished personalities whose Investiture Ceremony took place in Lagos on Saturday, October 30, 2021.

The Director General of the World Trade Organisation (WHO), Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, was among those honoured with a Fellowship of the CIBN at the same event and addressed the august gathering virtually.

Guest Speaker at the event was Mr. Taiwo Oyedele, the Africa Tax and Legal Services Lead, PWC Nigeria. He spoke on “Nigeria’s Rising Debt Profile: Issues & Implications for Sustainable Economic Development.”

Dr. Kingsley Obiorah, Deputy Governor, Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), who was also awarded an Honorary Fellowship, graced the ceremony.

The Special Guest of Honour was Dr. Shamsudeen Usman, OFR, CON, Chairman/CEO, Susman & Associates Ltd. and former Minister of National Planning.

Dr. Bayo Olugbemi, President/Chairman of Council of the CIBN, Dr. ‘Seye Awojobi Registrar/Chief Executive, and Dr. Ken Opara, 1st Vice President, CIBN all played key roles in the memorable event which saw a total number of 237 individuals being conferred with different categories of the coveted awards of the Institute.

14 personalities received Honorary Fellowships, 77 personalities were conferred with Elected Fellowships while 146 individuals were conferred with Honorary Senior Membership of the elite CIBN.

It was honour well deserved for Dr. Inegbu, the Abia State-born astute Banker and a day of joy for him, his family, friends and associates.
