Dr. Ngozi Anyaegbunam is dead
The death has been announced, of a trailblazing journalist and author, Dr Ngozi Fidelia Anyaegbunam, after a brief illness.
A statement on behalf of the family, by Rocky C Agbese, her son, noted that the late Dr Anyaegbunam had editorial stints with Champion Newspaper Ltd. in Lagos where she blazed the trail as the first female editor. She was also at The Daily Times of Nigeria where she authored the book Waziri Ibrahim: Politics Without Bitterness.
Born in October 1957 at Damaturu in modern day Yobe State to George and Victoria Anyaegbunam, the late Dr Anyaegbunam, held the distinction of being a female print media journalist to interview two sitting Presidents of Nigeria (Olusegun Obasanjo and Muhammadu Buhari), and after her sojourn in mainstream journalism practice, became a full time media management consultant to numerous blue chip companies.
A dedicated and loving mother, grandmother, sister, cousin and friend, Auntie Ngozi will be sorely missed by all who came across her and who were impacted by her larger than life presence.
The statement also noted that funeral arrangements will soon be announced by the family.
