Ejiogu’s membership of APC unshakeable – Media Aide … Describes detractors as dissidents, idle minds

Sir Jude Ejiogu

The immediate past Secretary to the Government of Imo State [SGI] , Sir Jude Ejiogu, has denied a newspaper publication alleging that he will soon dump the All Progressives Congress (APC).

A statement by his Media Aide, Mr. Ikenna Onuoha, described the story as false and a figment of the imagination of the peddlers, assuring that his boss remains a strong member and supporter of the ruling party.

Mr. Onuoha who disclosed this to newsmen in Owerri while reacting to the publication in one of the local tabloids (African Herald Express), maintained that the story was very difficult to believe even to gullible persons owing to the fact that the former SGI is one of the founding fathers of the APC in Imo State and recently paid the rent for the Owerri North APC office along Egbu road Owerri, as well as contributed in no small measure to the growth of the party in the state.

According to Mr. Onuoha, the former SGI participated in the last APC revalidation exercise where he authenticated his membership of the party and therefore appealed to the general public to ignore the story, while describing sponsors of the publication as dissidents and idle minded individuals who have nothing serious to do for themselves but to discredit and blackmail people.

The Media Aide said that if Sir Ejiogu could risk his life during the 2015 Election to ensure that APC emerged victorious, in Owerri Federal Constituency in particular and the state at large, when peddlers of this rumor absconded with funds meant for the party members, how then could anybody believe the story that the former SGI will soon leave a party he labored to bring to limelight.

On the alleged media war against the Government by Sir Ejiogu, Mr. Onuoha challenged the purveyors of the story to back-up their claims by providing some of the published stories purportedly sponsored by Sir Ejiogu, describing the media attacks on him as the result of personal hatred by his detractors who see his rising profile as a threat.

Onuoha, therefore, concluded that those speculating Sir Ejiogu’s possible exit from the APC are either suffering from political hallucination or inferiority complex, stressing that their prediction that he would go into political oblivion having left the Government which did not work was the reason why they are trying to nail him through blackmail.
