Emancipation Support Committee of Trinidad and Tobago hosts sixth episode of Indaba today, Wednesday

The Emancipation Support Committee of Trinidad and Tobago (ESCTT) will host the sixth programme of the third season of its popular radio and online series, INDABA, today, Wednesday, October 2, 2024, from 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM Atlantic Standard Time (AST).

The programme, known for fostering education, discussion and community connection, promises an insightful and engaging discussion and will feature a panel of esteemed hosts, including Shabaka Kambon, Dr. Claudius Fergus, and Rev. Kwame Kamau. Joining them as a specialist guest is Eugene Puryear, an American journalist, writer, activist, politician, and host of BreakThrough News.

Puryear brings a wealth of experience and insight to the discussion, having been deeply involved in activism and political journalism.

The key focus of the evening will be the Outcomes of the 1st Global Anti-Fascists Congress, a significant international gathering aimed at addressing the rise of fascism globally and strategies to combat it. The discussion is also expected to shed light on the resolutions and action plans from the Congress and provide a platform for critical dialogue on the future of anti-fascist movements worldwide.

In addition to the main feature, INDABA will include the popular Afrika Report, which, in this edition, will spotlight Aisha Yesufu, a prominent Nigerian political activist, and her role in raising consciousness around political activism in Nigeria. This segment will offer valuable perspectives on the struggles and victories of African political activists in the modern era.

Listeners and viewers are invited to participate in the conversation through various platforms. The audience are invited to send in 30-second voice notes via Whatsapp to 1-868-306-3687 during the programme to share their thoughts or ask questions. For those tuning in via radio, the show will air live on Talk City 91.1 FM, with the same call-in number available for interaction.

For online participants, the event will be streamed live on the Caribbean Pan African Network (CPAN) Facebook page and the ESCTT YouTube page, providing a global audience the opportunity to join the conversation.
