Six Commissioners of Police (CP) skipped the rank of Assistant Inspector-General (AIG) as they were promoted to the rank of Deputy Inspector-General (DIG).
It would also be recalled that the Inspector General of police, Mr Ibrahim K. Idris, was until his appointment, last month, athe commissioner of police for Kano State.
.The new DIGs, according to the spokesperson to the Commission, Ikechukwu Ani, would oversee the seven management departments of the Force.
Those appointed to the various Departments are: AIG Shuaibu Gambo – DIG, Finance and Administration; CP Joshak Habila – DIG, Department of Operations
CP Maigari Abbati Dikko – DIG, Logistics & Supply; P H. M. Dagala – DIG, Department of FCIID; CP Emmanuel T. Inyang – DIG, Training and Development; CP Ntom Chukwu – DIG, Research and Planning; CP Folusho A. Adebanjo – DIG Department of ICT; CP Abdul Bube – AIG Force Secretary.
Ani said the Commission has conveyed this approval to the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris for implementation.
A statement by the Police Public relations Officer, DCP Don Awunah, Monday, said the IGP ‘while congratulating the newly promoted officers enjoined them to see their promotion as a national call to duty that requires utmost loyalty and sincerity to the nation and people of Nigeria, directing them to report immediately to their new areas of responsibilities.’
