Dr. Emeka Ugwu
The President, Nigerian Doctors Forum – South Africa (NDF-SA), Dr. Emeka Ugwu, has called on Nigeria’s leaders to move swiftly to address the burning issues of Nigerian nationhood.

In his message to celebrate Nigeria’s 60th Independence Anniversary, Dr. Ugwu identified these burning issues of nationhood as “our unity and continuous existence as a nation, insecurity, the suffocating economy, health, education and infrastructural development that should be fairly distributed.”

Stressing that the celebration of the country’s 60th year of independence “calls for sober reflection, deep introspection, and stock taking,” he said that “there is no better time than now, for active citizenry at all levels,” noting that “we have to do our part, to shape our future, and destiny.”

Dr. Ugwu also called on God to “give us all the grace, to do the needful, to restore Nigeria to the path of glory, and greatness.”
