In 1985, I visited Dr. Agbara in Philadelphia on my way to Tallahassee, Florida, where I was scheduled to present an article from my doctoral dissertation. During my visit, Dr. Agbara asked me to hold his key so that I could let myself into his apartment in case he couldn’t make it back in time. This simple request proved to be crucial, as Dr. Agbara’s health took a turn for the worse, and he passed out in his apartment.

Fortunately, I returned to the apartment to find Dr. Agbara on the floor, almost lifeless. I called the campus police, who rushed him to the hospital, where he was diagnosed with a ruptured appendix. Thanks to their prompt action, Dr. Agbara received the medical attention he needed, and over the next nine months, he made a full recovery.
A 40-Year Anniversary
Forty years later, Dr. Agbara shared with me the significance of this event in his life and faith. He credited me with saving his life and attributed our meeting and my staying with him to divine orchestration rather than coincidence or chance.
