Tiv Youths Peace Initiative (TYPI) have bestowed on Secretary to State Government (SSG) of Gombe , Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, the award of ‘Warrior of Peace’ for his sterling efforts at peace building across borders.
President of the association Mr. Tenaa Anakaa who led other members of the executives to the office of the SSG to present the award said it was a result of a five year research on Professor Njodi which found him worthy of being the first ever recipient of the ‘Kuruttya U Bem’ (Warrior of Peace) award by the association.

He explained that the association is a socio-cultural group that is fully on ground in Benue, Nassarawa, Taraba and Plateau States with membership all over the world.

Professor Njodi appreciated the award and the recognition accorded him and the State saying, “whatever we must have achieved was made possible through the people of Gombe State”, as such, he dedicated the award to the people.
While promising to do more to take Gombe State higher, Professor Njodi said, ” since you have been watching us and what we do, we will not be surprised if other socio-cultural groups such as, Igbos, Yorubas among many others are watching us for good too.”
