Gov. Emmanuel lauds Akwa Ibom Diaspora forum for cooperation

The Akwa Ibom Association of Nigeria, USA Inc (AKISAN), has held a fund-raising event at the Sheraton and Le Meridien Hotel Complex, Charlotte, USA.

The event took place from August 11th to 14th, 2022 and the wife of the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Dr. Mrs. Martha Udom Emmanuel, represented her husband at the well-attended program.

She expressed the Governor’s appreciation for the cooperation between the Akwa Ibom community in the USA and the State Government and called for more of such support and cooperation.

Also present at the program were notable Akwa Ibom people from various backgrounds, including the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 election, Pastor Umo Eno, Sen. Akon Eyakenyi, Sen. Effiong Bob, Barr. Emmanuel Enoidem, Obong Akan Udofia, Mr. Don Etim, Sir Monday Ebong Uko, Akparawa Godwin Ntukudeh, Uko Udom SAN, Hon. Frank Archibong, Prof. Eno Ibanga, Dr. Ini Adiakpan, Mr. Gabriel Ukpeh, Mr. Okon Okon, Oliver Udokpo, Hon. Akan Tommey and Mrs. Mary Ekpenyong.

The President of AKISAN, Itoro Akpaniquot, expressed deep appreciation to the Governor and Government of Akwa Ibom State for their continuous support to the organization over the years, and presented an award of appreciation to the Governor.

Among other exciting attractions at the event, which was spiced up with rich cultural displays, was the ‘Mr. & Miss Akwa Ibom USA’ competition. Winners of the competition received gifts from the Governor’s representative.
