Gov. Ikpeazu swears-in Bonnie Iwuoha, Eziuche Ubani, 18 other Commissioners

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State has reminded his newly-appointed commissioners of the zero tolerance stance of his administration for corruption, even as he warned that he would not hesitate to fire anyone caught engaging in dubious practices.

Ikpeazu disclosed this, Tuesday, at the swearing-in ceremony of the newly-appointed state commissioners.

The new 20 Commissioners and their portfolios include: Hon. Uzo Azubuike who was appointed Commissioner for Agriculture; Mr. Bony Iwuoha, Information and Hon. Eziuche Ubani, Works ministry.

Others are former Deputy Chief of Staff, Government House, Chief Joshua Ogbonnaya, Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs and a renowned industrialist, Chief Henry Ikoh who is now heading the Ministry of Industry.

Also sworn-in are: Mr. Obinna Oriaku, Finance; Ebo Ihekwereme , Physical Planning; Professor Ikechi Mgbeoji, Education; John Ahukanna, Health and Chinwe Nwangaga , Sports.

Others include: Hagler Okorie, Youths; Osita Igbe, Housing; Uche Ihediwa, Lands; Eboh Iheakwaba, Physical Planning and Chief Tony Ezebuiro, Public Utilities.

The three female members of the team are: Nnenna Obewu, Transport; Lady Chinedu Brown, Women Affairs and Kate Enwereji, Trade & Investment while Chima Mgbeke and Gab Igboko got Poverty Alleviation and Environment respectively.

The governor also charged them to key into the five cardinal pillars of his administration – agriculture, trade and commerce, oil and gas, infrastructure and education.

Reacting on behalf of the other appointees, the Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Oriaku, thanked the Governor for giving them the opportunity to serve and pledged not to betray the confidence reposed in them.
