Bayelsa State Police Command has confirmed the abduction of the Clan Head of Biseni Community in the Yenagoa Local Government Area of the state, His Royal Highness Luckson Oberike, by suspected gunmen.
The command said the traditional ruler was abducted from his residence by armed men who stormed his residence, shooting sporadically to scare off locals before whisking the monarch away Thursday from his residence in Biseni community.
A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Asinim Butwats said the unknown gunmen escaped through IDU waterways, in Rivers State.
The police image maker said, the Rivers State Police Command has been alerted as efforts have been intensified to rescue the victim and arrest the abductors.
