Hon. Faparusi institutes N1million Ekiti State Teachers’ award for outstanding performance

Ekiti State Commissioner for Infrastructure and Public Utilities, Hon. Engr. Bamidele Faparusi, has instituted a N1million annual “Ekiti Teachers Fappy Award for Outstanding Performance.”
Hon. Faparusi, a frontline governorship aspirant in the last governorship election in the state, who announced the award as part of the 2021 Teachers Day celebration, said the disbursement of the Prize money will commence from December this year.

A former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Faparusi, in an open letter to Ekiti state teachers, acknowledged that he is an Engineer today because he benefitted from the tutelage of teachers, stressing that “without teachers we cannot have a decent, orderly and progressive society.”
He noted that without teachers, society “may even be worse than the animal kingdom,” pointing out that “the quality of eldorado we desire is primarily dependent on the quality of our teachers today” and urged the everyone to acknowledge the sacrificial service of teachers as next to God and accord them the respect they deserve.
He commended the state Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi “for doing everything humanly possible to improve on the welfare of Ekiti teachers by prompt payment of wages and allowances as well as by providing a decent working environment through massive renovation of schools and construction of new model schools.”
Hon. Faparusi also used the occasion to call on all duty bearers “in the education sector including the management of private schools to pay teachers living and decent wages and always make deliberate efforts to put smiles on their faces.”
To ensure that the rewards of teachers are no longer only in heaven, therefore, the popular politician, on behalf of his family and friends has instituted the Ekiti Teachers Award for Outstanding Performance, they disbursement of which will commence this December 2021.
While joining the State Governor, Dr. Fayemi, to celebrate the teachers, Hon. Faparusi also prayed that God will water their gardens as they water “the knowledge garden of our dear State.”
