Dr. Boris Chukwuemeka Oji becomes Fellow of Leadership Institute in Houston, Texas, USA, Saturday

Dr. Boris Chukwuemeka Oji, MD, a Nigeria-born Board-certified Physician and Chief of Medicine at Banner DelWebb Medical Center in Phoenix Arizona, United States of America (USA), will be inducted as a Fellow of the JKU Institute of Leadership and Counseling (JILC), Abuja, Nigeria on Saturday, April 20, 2024.

The conferment of the Fellowship on Dr. Oji, an acclaimed philanthropist and community activist, according to the Institute is in recognition of his “outstanding academic and professional standing and demonstrated commitment to creating, maintaining and promoting the highest standards of excellence in leadership.”

Led by Bishop Dr. Juliana King, the International Leadership Board of JILC, which is conferring the Fellowship on Dr. Oji also said that the ceremony will take place during the Educational Community Outreach Enrichment Seminar of Juliana King University, Houston, Texas, USA on Saturday, April 20, 2024, by 10 am CST and 4pm WAT.

The notice of conferment of the Fellowship was communicated to Dr. Oji, who is also the founding international President of ZESPRONET, an association of Alumni of the Abia State University (ABSU), Uturu, Abia State, via a letter endorsed by Dr. Elvis Enyioko, President & Chairman of Council of JICL.

Dr. Oji, a multiple award-winning Doctor of Optometry from ABSU, Uturu, Abia State, before he relocated to the US and studied to become a regular Medical Doctor, has used the platform of ZESPRONET, which embraces alumni of his alma mater both living in Nigeria and abroad to impact the ABSU and other institutions of higher learning in Nigeria.

They, at one time, for instance, completed and presented to ABSU an N80 million ultra-modern Post Graduate hostel which was commissioned by the Governor of the state at the time. The group, under his international leadership, has also executed other development projects in ABSU and other institutions of higher learning, among other community-based projects in Nigeria and in the US.

Family, friends, alumni and other associates of Dr. Oji are expected to grace the ceremony, both in person and virtually, to honor a man, who many agree has, so far, made major impact on society.
