I will not fail the Rivers people — Wike pledges

Rivers State Governor,  Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has declared that his administration will not fail the people of the state,  assuring them that development projects and programmes will be sustained all through his leadership.

Addressing Christian faithful during the 23rd Anniversary of Royal House of Grace in Port Harcourt, Governor Wike said his administration is anchored on God and will work for the people of the state.

The governor said that he emerged as a result of the prayers of Men of God and the faithfulness of God despite the challenges during electioneering campaigns.

He said: “I will not fail the people of Rivers State.  This administration will continue to deliver on all fronts.

“If not for God, I would not have emerged as governor.  If it had been for money, there was no way I would have been governor”.

The governor said  despite the financial challenges placed before him by the immediate past administration wherein the former governor declared publicly that he would not be able to pay salaries,  pensions and do projects, his administration has overcome that challenge,  clearing the backlog of salaries,  pensions and executing projects.

“You have a responsible government that will continue to listen to the people. We shall continue to improve and we will always take cognisance of constructive criticism”,  he said.

In his sermon, Evangelist Uma Ukpai described Governor Wike as God’s answer to the prayer of people who are in need of development.

He said no matter the level of plots, nobody can disgrace God’s anointed out of office.

Rivers State Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Apostle Zilley Aggrey commended Governor Wike for his development projects which are transforming the state.
