Igbo Association, Tampa Bay Inc., Florida holds 2022 Cultural Day & Fundraising, Saturday, June 25, 2022.

The Igbo Association, Tampa Bay Inc., Florida will hold her 2022 Igbo Cultural Day & Fundraising Event on Saturday, June 25, 2022.

The event, according to a notice by Obed Chukwuma Ariri and Kanayo Okeke, President and Secretary of the Association respectively, be held from 7PM to 12 AM EST.

Venue of the program is Embassy Suites by Hilton Tampa USF near Bush Gardens, 3705 Spectrum Boulevard, Tampa, Florida  33612.

A highpoints of the event will be a fundraising for the construction of an Igbo Cultural Center that will be the first of its kind in the area on land that has already been purchased for the purpose. The Center will, among others, promote the Igbo culture, cuisine and language and will be expected to impact positively on the host communities in the Bay area.

The Association will also, as part of the program, be making a donation to the St. Jude Hospital for Children for the good work they have been doing.

Launched in the summer of 1996, the Association’s aims and objectives include to bring all Igbo people together “by fostering unity and camaraderie among members, catering to the legitimate interests and welfare of members and promoting education about the traditions, cuisine, arts and culture of the Igbo people among members, their children and the interested public.

​The Association is also set up to support and identify with other charitable organizations and activities that benefit the local host communities and as a charitable organization, to strive towards giving back to the host communities through participation in several annual community outreach programs, including Paint Your Hearts Out Tampa Bay, Feeding Tampa Bay, Back to School giveaways, Picnics and the Igbo Cultural Day.
