INEC announces date for distribution of PVCs ahead FCT poll; slates April 9 for Ife Central bye-election

Ahead of the Saturday, March 19 Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Council elections, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has scheduled Friday 4th to Thursday 10th March 2016 for the distribution of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to eligible FCT registrants.
The seven-day exercise has been scheduled by the Commission to enable all who had registered in the last Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise to collect their PVCs and to participate in the Area Council elections.
The PVCs will be distributed at the Polling Units (PUs) for the first three days of the exercise (4th – 6th March, 2016), while distribution will be done at the Ward level for the last four days (7th – 10th March, 2016) from 9am to 4pm daily during the exercise.
The Commission also said that at the expiration of the 7-day exercise, distribution of PVCs will continue at the Area Council level from Monday, 14th of March to Wednesday, 16th of March, 2016.
Also, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has scheduled the Ife Central State Constituency, Osun State Bye-election for Saturday 9th, April 2016.
Ife Central State Constituency is made up of: one (1) Local Government; eleven (11) Registration Areas; one hundred and sixty eight (168) Polling Units; and one hundred and ninety seven (197) Voting Points.
The State Constituency has a total of 95,239 registered voters.
