Juma Jux, a Tanzanian singer and husband of Nigerian actress, Priscilla Ojo, has denied reports alleging that he fathered a child with another woman.
Jux described the claim as false and harmful, saying he initially chose not to respond because he considered the report to have no credibility.
However, the singer said he decided to address the allegation because it could affect his reputation, family and business.
Jux said he had spent years building his name and business through hard work, discipline and dedication, adding that he would not allow unverified claims to undermine what he had built.
He also said he personally contacted the woman mentioned in the report and that she denied the allegation, stating that she had never been in a relationship with him.
The singer warned that he would pursue legal action against anyone who continued to associate his name, family or businesses with what he described as false allegations.
In a statement written in Swahili and shared on his social media page, Jux said: “Anyone who chooses to associate my name, my family, or my businesses with false allegations must be prepared to be held accountable according to the law.”
He concluded: “I have chosen peace, truth, and the appropriate legal action.”
The controversy comes amid heightened social media attention on Jux and his marriage to Priscilla, following his appearance at the wedding of social media personality Peller.
Jux had also recently attracted discussions online over his slimmer appearance. In a video shared by Priscilla, he explained that he had previously had a bigger stomach and did not like it, adding that he now likes his appearance and wants to be “rich and okay”.
Priscilla and Jux have continued to publicly project their relationship despite criticism from some Tanzanian social media users.
Priscilla previously described herself as her husband’s “handbag” while sharing photographs from their trip to London.
In an interview with Chude Jideonwo, Priscilla said she would not leave her husband solely because of infidelity, describing such a decision as his responsibility. She also expressed confidence in Jux, describing him as disciplined, and saying she trusted him.
The couple got married in a series of ceremonies held in Tanzania and Nigeria in February, April and May.
Jux had earlier revealed that he met Priscilla while they were working and said he knew after meeting her that she was the woman he had been waiting for.
Priscilla, daughter of actress Iyabo Ojo, has also said their relationship goes beyond social media, describing their time together as peaceful and making her feel relaxed and happy.
