Labour Party Diaspora mourns Reps Ekene Adams

The Labour Party (LP) Diaspora community has expressed deep sadness over the untimely passing of its party’s lawmaker, Ekene Abubakar Adams.

Adams, who represented the Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency of Kaduna State and served as Chairman of the House Committee on Sports, passed away in the early hours of Tuesday at the age of 39.

A statement by Hon. Amb. AJU Elumelu, Labour Party’s Deputy Director (Diaspora), said that “as a vibrant member of the Labour Party and a committed public servant, Representative Ekene Adams was a beacon of hope and integrity. His efforts in the National Assembly to speak truth to power and advocate for the voiceless were deeply appreciated by all of us, both at home and abroad.

“In his short time in office, Adams made significant contributions to his constituency, including donating transformers, cars, and motorcycles, and empowering numerous individuals across political divides. His dedication to his campaign promises and his philanthropic spirit were inspiring and exemplary.

“The Labour Party Diaspora community joins the national leadership and all party members in mourning this great loss. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his immediate family, the people of Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency, the Kaduna State government, and the entire nation.

“We pray for strength and comfort for all who knew and loved him, and may his soul rest in peace.”
