Dr. Adejare and his team, who visited the KAI Brigade Headquarters in Alausa, Ikeja on Friday to check on the wounded operatives, announced the immediate elevation of three injured officers, namely Mr. Okoh Chukwueku Innocent, Mr. Akinnitire Abayomi Samuel and Mr. Akinsanya Bolaji Sewanu.
The Commissioner also seized the opportunity to pledge the unflinching support of the state government to KAI operations in its effort to promote and sustain a clean, healthy and safe environment.
He however urged the officials to show more commitment and rededicate themselves to effective service delivery, adding that the on-going rebranding efforts of the Agency must usher in a KAI Brigade imbued with dignity.
Dr. Adejare disclosed that a panel of inquiry would be set up to determine the immediate and remote cause or causes of the attack, affirming that the report would dictate the next line of action to be taken in order to forestall such ugly incident in the future.
He further directed that the KAI operatives attached to the market at Ile-Epo, Agbado Oke-Odo should be redeployed pending the outcome of the inquiry.
While noting that the courts will determine the fate of the attackers arrested during the incident, Adejare assured that the present administration would not relent in its efforts in bringing sanity to the area.
Top government officials in the visiting team include the Special Adviser to the Governor on Environment, Hon. Babatunde Hunpe and the General Manager, Drain Ducks, Mr. Akeem Apatira.
