House of Representatives member, representing Oshodi Isolo Federal Constituency 11 of Lagos State, Hon. Tony Nwulu, has decamped from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
In a letter to the Speaker, House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara, dated July 24, 2018, the legislator said that he is moving over to the United Progressive Party, UPP.
He was among the legislators that effected changes in their party memberships on Tuesday, July 24 in the House.
Some Senators also decamped from the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, to the PDP.
Hon. Nwulu, the Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Capital Market and Institutions, who made history in Lagos State when he won his seat as a non indigene of the state, has been adjudged a high performing legislator by many.
In his letter to Dogara, he said that his decision to dump the PDP for the UPP “ is as a result of irreconcilable conflicts in my party and in accordance with Section 68 1(g) of the 1999 Constitution as amended.”
He becomes the only member of the UPP in the House and pledged his continuous support to the leadership of the Speaker.
Hon. Nwulu will be aspiring to be Governor of Imo State on the platform of the UPP come 2019.
