Late Professor Uwazurike for burial on Friday, December, 23, 2022

Late Professor Cletus Ngozi Uwazurike, Knight of Saint Mulumba (KSM), former Provost of the Alvan Ikoku College of Education and Dean of Education, Imo state University, Owerri, Imo State, who died on October 25, 2022, will be laid to rest at his compound in Umunakanu, Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State on Friday, December 23, 2022.

The interment will take place after a Pontifical Requiem Mass at St Theresa Catholic Church, Umunakanu at 10am.

Chief Goddy Uwazurike KSM, who confirmed the date, also noted that the Alvan Ikoku College of Education and Imo State University communities held a Service of Songs in Owerri on Thursday, December 15, 2022, in honour of the acclaimed academic, author, orator and motivator.

The Uwazurike family, through a statement by Prof Chudi Uwazurike and Eng Ik Uwazurike,  had earlier announced the passage unto glory of their Patriarch, who while alive, also served the community, the Church, the state and the country in different prominent positions, including as a member of Nigeria’s Constitutional Conference.

The departed Professor of Educational Management and Planning, Imo State University, Owerri, Nigeria, who has several chieftaincy titles, including Ahaejiagamba, Enyioha and Ikemba, conferred on him in recognition of his contributions to society, is survived by his wife, Dr Mrs. Ndidi Uwazurike LSM, sons, Ik, Chuma, and Chigozie; daughter-in-law, Mrs. Fresher Uwazurike and grandchildren.

He is also survived by brothers, Prof Chudi Uwazurike and Bar Goddy Uwazurike KSM, and sisters, Eziada Elizabeth Nwachukwu, Dr Mrs. Evelyn Nwadinobi, Dr Mrs. Justina Chukwu and HRH Ugoeze Ijeoma Aguh as well as Dr Johnkay Nwadinobi, Dr Eng. Johnny Chukwu, HRH Eze B. Aguh, Dr Mrs. Josephine Uwazurike, Lolo Chioma Uwazurike, Lolo Tonia Uwazurike LSM and Cindy Uwazurike.

Dignitaries from across the country and beyond, from all walks of life, are expected to converge on Umunakanu, Ehime Mbano LGA, Imo State on Friday, December 23, 2022, to join the family to bid him a final farewell.
