Man, 62, docked over alleged assault

The police on Friday arraigned a 62-year-old man, Ibrahim Idowu in an Osogbo Chief Magistrates’ Court in Osun over assault.
Idowu is facing a three-count charge of assault, breach of public peace and theft.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Fagboyinbo Abiodun, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on Aug. 8 at Alabada area, Okini, Osogbo.
Abiodun said that the defendant assaulted three men — Suleiman Rasaki, Niyi Olasupo and Olawale Kamarudeen.
He added that the assault resulted to breach of public peace.
He explained that in the confusion that ensued
Idowu also stole one compass (measuring equipment) and ranging pole valued
at N150, 000 belonging to the complainants.
