The families of late Raymond Okorie Madumere family of Umuatonti Nnachioma in Umuariam, Obowo Local Government Area of Imo State, and Ekechukwu Okorie Igbandu of Umuikpelewe Ndiuhu Amuzi Obowo have announced the demise of their beloved daughter, mother, sister, wife, grandmother and great grandmother Ezinne Mazima Laeticia Izukot Okorie Madumere, nee Ekechukwu.
The families, in a notice endorsed by Engr Cyriacus Okorie and Prince Mike O Okorie, the Controller of Corrections, Imo State Command, said that late Ezinne Mazima Madu, a highly respected community leader and philanthropist of note, passed on to glory aged 90.
The families also announced the burial date of their Matriarch as Saturday, July 11, 2026.
According to the burial announcement, activities for the final homegoing of Ezinne Mazima Madu will start on Friday, July 10, 2026 with a wake – keep at her husband’s compound in Umuatonti Nnachioma in Umuariam Obowo LGA, Imo State.
On Saturday, July 11, 2026, the body will leave Madonna Mortuary, Aguneze Mbaise for Umuariam, with brief stop overs at Amuzi and Umuosochie villages.
There will be a Lying-in-State in her husband’s compound same Saturday before the funeral service at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, Umuariam Obowo. Thereafter, the interment will take place at her husband’s compound in Umuatonti, Umuariam Obowo.
A reception will take place at the Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church field immediately after interment.
The family will, on Sunday, July 12, 2026, have an outing service at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, Umuariam Obowo.
