The National Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), has called on Nigerians in Diaspora to come home and invest in the country.
Making the call, weekend, during the inauguration of YEBAOT Automobile Limited, in Ibadan, the National Vice-President of the chambers, Mr Asiwaju Alabi, said the call became necessary because a lot of rich Nigerians in foreign countries had refused to come home to invest.
YEBAOT Automobile Limited was established by Mr Yomi Olatinwo, an indigene Oyo State, based in United States of America.
Alabi while lauding Olatinwo for the initiative, noted that the latter on return from the United States had invested in Ibadan, to contribute to the growth of the economy of Nigeria and reduce its rate of unemployment.
He therefore, reminded Nigerians in foreign countries that the country needed them especially now that the price of oil, which the country depended for most of its revenue, had been on downward trend.
“The country needs to diversify its economy, to do that, we need foreign investors to boost the economy of the country, thereby creating jobs and reducing unemployment. Government alone cannot do it, those that have the resources to set up business should assist the government by setting up a business,’’ NACCIMA Vice- President said.
Speaking the Chief Executive Officer of YEBAOT, Automobile Limited, Olatinwo, expressed the determination of his company to contribute to the economic growth and development of the country.
He said that his company deals in new cars, brought to Nigeria for sale.
