New Police Commissioner assumes duty in Enugu State

A new Commissioner of Police for the Enugu State Command, Mr Sulaiman Balarabe, on Monday assumed duty in the state.

Balarabe took over from outgoing Commissioner, Mr Mohammed Danmallam, who had been redeployed to Force Headquarters in Abuja.

Addressing personnel of the command after taking over, Balarabe stressed the need for officers and men to be professional at all times.

He warned against partisanship, regarding the Feb. 16 and March 2 general elections.

“Officers must stick to the guidelines on the conduct of general election,’’ he said.

Earlier, the outgoing commissioner, Danmallam charged the personnel of the command to extend the same cooperation accorded him to the new commissioner to enable him succeed.

Until his posting to Enugu state, Balarabe was the deputy commissioner of police in charge of operations in Kwara.

He had also served as deputy commissioner of police in charge of operations Zone 2 Police Command, Lagos and deputy commissioner of police in charge of Finance and Administration in Borno command.
