Next Senate President must emerge through due process — Shehu Sani

Senator-elect under the All Progressive Congress (APC), Malam Shehu Sani, Sunday, said that the next Senate President must emerge from a free and fair process devoid of any sectional interest.

Sani who made the disclosure in Kaduna decried the acrimony generated by those contesting for the position under the APC, saying it was not in the best interest of the party.

“The new Senate President must emerge from a process that is free from ethnic, religious or sectional sentiments.

“The senate president must reflect the spirit and emerging order, and must follow through the programmes and manifestos of the APC,’’ Sani said.
