NFF pays winning bonus to Super Eagles for victory over Cameroon

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has disbursed the winning bonus for the Super Eagles’ victory over the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon in the 2023 African Nations Cup (AFCON).

The players and officials received an alert of $12,500 for their 2-0 win in the Round of 16.

The Super Eagles secured another victory on Friday night, defeating Angola 1-0 in the quarter-final to advance to the semi-final, where they will face Bafana Bafana of South Africa. The winning bonus payment is part of the financial incentives promised to the players for their performance in the tournament.

In addition to the recent bonus, the players are also due to receive $30,000 each for progressing beyond the group stage. The NFF aims to clear a backlog of unpaid bonuses and allowances, extending back to 2021, providing financial relief to the players and further motivation as they strive for success in the ongoing AFCON.

Nigeria, South Africa, Cote D’Ivoire, and DR Congo are the four countries that have reached the semi-finals of the 2023 African Nations Cup.
