Nigeria Basketball Federation President commends D’Tigers for FWC Qualifiers second round ticket 

Nigeria’s male basketball team D’Tigers booked a place in the second round of the 2023 FIBA World Cup Qualifiers with a 20-0 win over Mali.

The Malians failed to show up for the game handing the Nigerians their 3rd win from five games to join Cape Verde and Uganda in the next round.

Addressing the players on Saturday evening, Engr. Musa Kida, President of the Basketball Federation thanked the team for dedication and commitment to the call of duty.

The President, who was accompanied by his Vice President Babs Ogunade, extended the felicitation from Nigerians to the team for a successful first round.

Engr. Musa Kida said “Congratulations again for booking your deserved place in the second round. I bring you greetings from compatriots back home who are solidly behind you.

“We count on you to deliver on this task. We will do everything within our power as a Federation to make things easy for you on and off the court” Kida concluded.

D’Tigers will face Uganda by 2pm today (Sunday) in a match that will decide who finishes second and third in Group A with Cape Verde already guaranteed the top spot.
