The Federal Medical Centre, Abuja and Association of Nigerian Physicians in the Americas (ANPA) will Friday, January 28, 2022, present a public enlightenment program on the sickle cell disease.
The program, which is part of their monthly Collaborative Grand Round has as theme “Current Trends in the Management of Sickle Cell Disease” and experts in the field from Nigeria and the Diaspora will be presenters at the Virtual event.
The Chief Hosts of the event are Professor Saad Ahmed, Medical Director, FMC Abuja and Professor Christopher Okunseri, President of ANPA while the presenters are Prof. Ifeyinwa “Ify” Osunkwo, Director, Sickle Cell Disease Enterprise & Professor of Medicine, Levine Cancer Institute, Charlotte, North Carolina, Dr. Adebayo Olufemi, H.O.D, Haematology, FMC, Abuja, Emeritus Prof. Ajayi Scott-Emuakpor, Michigan State University School of Medicine, Michigan and Dr. Bioku Muftau, Consultant Urologist, FMC, Abuja.
Created as a platform to cross fertilise ideas and share research findings between healthcare professionals in Nigeria and those abroad, the Monthly Collaborative Grand Round has since inception, focused on diverse health conditions, including Coronavirus, otherwise known as COVID-19.
Today’s edition of the program will hold from 3:00PM (Nigeria), 9:00AM (EST) and 6:00AM (PST).
