Nigeria name 25 players for Morocco camp ahead of U-20 AFCON (See names)

Nigeria U-20 Eagles Head Coach, Ladan Bosso has released the list of 25 players that will fly to Morocco where the team will finalize preparations for this month’s U-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

The Ladan Bosso tutored U-20 AFCON bound Flying Eagles have been camping in Abuja but have elected to continue preparations in the North African  country, Morocco.

Nigeria will play two friendly games in Morocco before the 25-man list will be trimmed to a final 21-man squad that will travel to Egypt for the 2023 U-20 AFCON.

THE 25-PLAYER LIST

GOALKEEPERS: Nathaniel Nwosu (Water FC), Chijioke Anigboso (Giant Brillars), Saheed Akanbi (Adoration FC).

DEFENDERS: Daniel Bamaiyi (YumYum FC), Michael Ologo ( Instanbulspor), Abel Ogwuche ( Trelleborgs FF), Solomon Agbalaka (Broad City), Augustine Njoku (Abia Warriors), Benjamin Frederick (Nasarawa United).

MIDFIELDERS: Daniel Daga (Dakkada FC), Onuche Ogbelu (Nasarawa United), Musa Usman, Mohammed Aminu ( Mailantarki FC), Jonathan Nicholas (Simoiben FC), Shatima Umar( Mahaniam FC), Caleb Ochedikwu (Mavlon FC), Samson Lawal (Unattached).

FORWARDS: Jude Sunday (Realsaphier FC), Francis Ayuba (Nasarawa United), Adams Olamilekan (Remo Stars), Ahmed Abdullahi (Gent), Haliru Sarki (Maikunkele FC), Emmanuel Uchegbu (Plateau United), Ibrahim Mohammed (Mavlon FC), Kingsley James (Unattached).

The Nigerian contingent is expected to will leave Nigeria enroute Morocco today, Thursday February 9, 2023.

At the AFCON, Nigeria will face Senegal in their first game of the CAF competition on February 19. The Eagles will also face the host nation, Egypt, and Mozambique in Group A.
