 Nigerians in the US to celebrate 58 years of Nationhood in Newark

The Office of International Relations and Diaspora Affairs of the Mayor of the City of Newark, New Jersey, Ras Baraka, and the Nigerians in Diaspora Organization (NIDO), New Jersey Chapter, will on Thursday, October 25, 2018 hold the Annual October Flag Raising Ceremony marking Nigeria’s 58th Independence Anniversary.

The event will feature a display of Nigerian foods and delicacies as well as presentation of Honors and Awards to deserving individuals.

The Chief Host of the program is Mayor Ras Baraka of the City of Newark while the Co-Host is Dr. Kazeem F. Bello, the President, NIDO, New Jersey Chapter.

Theme Speaker for the Day is Ambassador Benaoyagha Bernard Mese Okoyen, Consul General of Nigeria in New York while the Special Guest of Honor will be His Excellency, Professor Tijani Muhammad Bande, CFR, Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, UN.

Venue of the event is the Newark City Hall, First Floor Rotunda, Broad Street, Newark, New Jersey and time is 5pm to 8 pm.
