The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General YD Ahmed, has urged serving corps members to avoid boarding vehicles by the roadside. He also warned against travelling at night or without proper permission.
Speaking in Anambra and Ebonyi States on Friday, December 6, 2024, during visits to the Anambra State Orientation Camp in Mbaukwu and the Ebonyi State Camp in Afikpo, Ahmed emphasised safety measures for Corps members. He advised them to use designated motor parks for travel, saying, “Avoid night travelling because of its dangers. Don’t board vehicles by the roadside; always use the designated motor parks.”
The DG encouraged corps members to integrate with their host communities, build positive relationships, and initiate meaningful projects to improve local living standards. He also reminded them to use their service year to plan for a better future and make lasting friendships.
Ahmed’s message highlighted the importance of safety and community involvement during the service year.
