Obi congratulates Nwobi on appointment as substantive Bishop of Ahiara Diocese

Mr. Peter Obi, the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 election has congratulated Bishop Simeon Okezuo Nwobi on his elevation as the substantive Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Ahiara, Imo State, by Pope Francis.

Mr. Obi, a former Governor of Anambra State, in a post on his X (formerly Twitter) handle, also rejoiced with the people of Ahiara Diocese “on this great news.”

He prayed that God will grant the new Bishop “the grace, energy, wisdom, and knowledge to function in this exalted position and the will to foster peace and brotherly love which will aid the spread of the gospel of Christ and the development of our nation.

“It’s my sincere wish and prayer that this appointment will help to deepen the faith and encourage harmony among the faithful in Ahiara and beyond in Jesus’ Name. -PO.”
