Ogbonnaya Onu is best for Secretary to Government of the Federation position- Hon. Amadiegwu

A former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Francis Amadiegwu, has said that Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu as Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, would perfectly complement the efforts of President Muhammadu Buhari to effect rapid, positive change in the country.
Hon. Amadiegwu, who spoke with Global Patriot Newspapers, Monday, said that “in terms of discipline, focus and integrity, the two men are two sides of the same coin.”
The political scientist, who represented Okigwe South Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, said further that Dr. Onu is also generally acceptable to Nigerians as a whole and the people of the South East geo-political zone in particular, due to his pan- Nigerian orientation and his impeccable antecedents.
“He is one of the most cerebral Nigerians alive,” Amadiegwu said, stressing that he has not met any Nigerian who does not respect the Ebonyi state-born former governor of the old Abia state (now Abia and Ebonyi states).
According to the former legislator, Dr. Onu, as Chairman of the former All Nigerian Peoples Party, ANPP, actually functioned as the Chief Executive Officer of the coalition that facilitated the merger of legacy parties to form the All Progressives Congress, APC, even without seeking to be given credit for his efforts.
“He is a well balanced gentleman with even temperament. In fact, he is Mr. Cool. He does not have capacity to lose his cool,” Amadiegwu noted, stressing that the first class graduate of Engineering from the University of Lagos is an embodiment of excellence, which he would bring to bear in the discharge of his responsibilities as SGF.
Besides, Amadiegwu pointed out that Onu operates with the philosophical mantra that he who serves his nation well has served his party well, a nationalistic world view that would serve a country in dire need of rapid change very well.
He stressed further that for President Buhari to be seriously considering Dr. Onu for the position of SGF also shows clearly the type of patriot and nationalist that he is.
One of the leaders of the anti-third term movement, Dr. Amadiegwu noted that confirmation of Dr. Onu as SGF would prove that the sacrifice of the legislators of that era and other Nigerians who fought against the agenda was not in vain.
