Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has congratulated the former Commonwealth Secretary-General and elder statesman, Chief Emeka Anyaoku as he clocked 93 on Sunday.
The group in a congratulatory message signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Dr Ezechi Chukwu, on Monday, hailed Anyaoku’s outstanding qualities and national contributions.
They said that Anyaoku’s life of service, integrity and global statesmanship remained a towering testament to the excellence, intellect and leadership values of Ndigbo.
According to the statement, Anyaoku’s outstanding contributions to international diplomacy and national cohesion had continued to inspire generations across Nigeria and beyond.
It quoted President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Sen. Azuta Mbata, saying that Anyaoku was a living symbol of patriotism, icon of national unity, disciplined leadership and global relevance.
“His life affirms the boundless capacity of the Igbo spirit to serve humanity with honour, wisdom and distinction.
“Ohanaeze Ndigbo joins family, friends and admirers in celebrating this remarkable milestone and prays for continued good health, peace and strength for our revered icon.
“Happy 93rd Birthday, Emeka Anyaoku,” Mbata prayed.
