Prince Felix Awofisayo, the Chairman, Elders Council for All Progressives Congress (APC), Ife Central, has called on the electorate to ensure they vote for the candidate of their choice during the gubernatorial election in the state which comes up on July 16, 2022.
Awofisayo made the call during the Osun Gubernatorial Primary Election on Saturday, February 19, 2022. He was at Ife Girls High School, Iremo Ward 11, Eleyele, in Ile-Ife for the primary.
He commended the electorate for cooperating with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials during the election, stressing that maintaining their candidate and voting their conscience would benefit them immensely.
“Everything went on smoothly at the centre. There was no rancour, no fighting and no acrimony. Both the accreditation and election were peaceful, and free and fair.
He charged them to ensure they maintain the status quo by voting the same candidate who emerged from the primary during the gubernatorial election.
“Let’s try to maintain the peace and orderliness of today on July 16, 2022, when gubernatorial election will hold when we’ll make our final decision,” he stated.
Also, Hon Benjamin Adereti, another APC stalwart, said that since the candidate voted for is from APC, all members are one family, so they have no choice than to work together in a friendly manner towards the July poll.
Adereti confirmed that they had peaceful accreditation and election, irrespective of the aspirant any member voted for.
He urged the electorate to work for the growth and progress of Ile-Ife, Osun and Nigeria at large based on peace and nothing but peace.
He commended all participants, including the Press and Security agencies, stressing that faithful party members gathered and worked diligently to ensure peaceful election.
Also, Engr Tunde Awofisayo, member of APC State Executive, Ife Central Local Government, thanked God that their campaign and prayers for peace to reign during the accreditation and primary election during the State APC gubernatorial Primary Election worked.
Awofisayo said he was happy that the voters harkened to the advice and prioritised harmonious election and commended them for maintaining peace across the state.
