Former Chapter Officer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Etim Ekpo Local Government of Akwa Ibom, Comrade Nsikan Inyang has crossed carpet to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the State, citing marginalization and frustration by the PDP leadership in the area as remote causes.
Inyang, a. k. a. Scatter, explained further that his leaving the party he diligently contributed to for eight years became necessary because of frustration by leaders of Etim Ekpo.

The party chief, who hails from Udianga Enem in Etim Ekpo ward 8 said it was time for a new political order that would recognize the essence of the youths as future leaders.
Inyang also stressed the need for all hands to be on deck to install a new and progressive order that would capture the popular interests of all in the Local Government.
“Allowing the Local Government to continue to remain under the vice-grip of few politicians under a one man cabal, makes real development to consistently elude the Council that remains without positive changes on the lives of the people for several years.
“I have served the PDP for over eight years and what I get is frustration by political leaders of Etim Ekpo, who can only promise but can’t redeem their promises.
“I have been a loyal party man in PDP but all my efforts to help in strengthening the PDP in the Local Government cannot be rewarded. If I have a problem and no one recognizes your worth, then it is better for me to go elsewhere, where I believe my loyalty would be recognized and rewarded.
“Therefore, I am going into the APC where I believe I will secure my political future because, if you check, the APC as an opposition party in the state has a better reward system for those who sacrifice for the interest of the party.
“I had spent the last eight years working and sacrificing for the PDP but those who claimed to be the owners of the party in Etim Ekpo have taken it upon themselves to use their hands to kill the party not minding the fact that politics is a game of numbers and the people are the ingredients.
“My happiness is that the leaders of APC as a party in the state have resolved to bury the feuds, for harmony and unity to reign in the party ahead of the 2023 general elections, and they are working towards that with a view to capturing the state in 2023.
“With consistent movements of PDP chieftains to the APC in the recent times, you would easily understand that the APC is the way to go because PDP is already a sinking ship to be avoided, except you want to be drowned when it finally sinks beyond redemption.
“Therefore, I have to leave in earnest with my wealth of experience garnered over the years, and I believe I, working with other chieftains and officers of the APC, we will be able to galvanize the electorates across the 11 Wards in Etim with a view to delivering the Local Government to the APC”, he stated.
