Presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Peter Obi, has expressed gratitude to the Swiss Confederation for its invaluable contributions to Nigeria’s development.
Mr. Obi, during a meeting with the Swiss Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Patrick Egloff, noted especially the Confederation’s “support for critical economic, cultural, humanitarian, and peace-building initiatives, particularly in the North-East.”
In a post on his X (former Twitter) platform, Obi, a former Governor of Anambra State, pointed out that he had “a productive and engaging discussion” with the Swiss Envoy on Nigeria’s “developmental journey, with particular emphasis on the critical sectors that drive development: education, healthcare, and lifting people out of poverty.”
In the post, titled “Strengthening Development Through Partnership,” Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), stressed that “building stronger partnerships founded on shared values and a commitment to human development remains essential to creating a more prosperous and inclusive Nigeria.”
