Police to provide adequate security for medical and dental practitioners

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Solomon Arase, has assured that Police will henceforth provide adequate security for medical and dental practitioners against any forms of threat or intimidation in the course of performing their legal duties. The assurance was given when the Nigeria Medical Association led by its president Dr. Kayode Obembe paid a courtesy call on the IGP in his office at the Force Headquarters.
The President of the Association specifically made the request following series of security challenges confronting his members. The IGP further said that security arrangement will equally be put in place to ensure the safety of their staff on hospital ambulances emergency services.
The forum was used by the IGP to state that commensurate remuneration will be given to Police doctors. The president of the association further expressed confidence in the Police leadership of the IGP.
