President Muhammadu Buhari has returned to Abuja from Egypt where he participated in the Aswan Forum on Sustainable Peace and Development in Africa and held Bilateral Meeting with President Abdelfattah El-Sisi of Egypt at the sideline of the Program.
He has also sent a message of congratulations to British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on his resounding election victory in the United Kingdom general election.
The President, according to a statement by Garba Shehu, his Senior Special Assistant (Media and Publicity) noted that Britain has been a reliable and historically unique ally of Nigeria, and has particularly supported this administration’s efforts at improving security and recovering stolen assets held in the UK.
“President Buhari looks forward to continue working with the Prime Minister to forge a stronger Nigeria-UK relationship, especially in the area of trade and economic partnerships which greatly benefit the citizens of both countries.
“The President wishes Prime Minister Johnson the best of luck as he navigates the people of Britain through the decisive period of leaving the European Union.”
