Prof. Peterside leads Opobo people in USA to celebrate, launch Foundation; Nigeria’s Consul General in New York, Amb. Egopija attends

It was a time of great joy for sons and daughters of Opobo Kingdom of Rivers State, when they came together as one in New Jersey, US on the 3rd and 4th of July 2021.
The occasion,  which also had in attendance friends and associates of Opobo people from across the United States of America, was the Inaugural Convention of the Opobo Foundation USA (OFUSA). The event held at the Double Tree By Hilton in Newark and the theme of the joyous gathering was “Educate, Equip & Empower.”
There was Symposium, Cultural Night, Dinner and dancing on Saturday, July 3, 2021 and Gala Night and Fund Raiser, Launching of OFUSA Scholarship Scheme, Dinner and more dancing in the evening of Sunday, July 4, 2021.
The memorable event, that had gaily dressed and gorgeously beaded ladies and men attired in powerful traditional attires dancing exotic indigenous dances, was also occasion for the celebration of the world acclaimed Physician,  Professor Iyalla Peterside, as the President of the Opobo Foundation USA, a body whose motto is: “Building the Future, Restoring our Heritage.”
