The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), says it has renovated and equipped the dialysis centre of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH), to enhance access to quality healthcare service delivery.
Pastor Idowu Illuyomade, Intercontinental Overseer, Christian Corporate Social Responsibility, stated this during the official handing over of the centre to the management of the hospital in Bauchi.
Illuyomade, represented by Pastor Detolal Akinremin, said the gesture was to contribute towards improving dialysis care in the state.
He said the RCCG has implemented 800,000 projects worth N25 billion across the globe, adding that the Church donated 37 dialysis equipment in various health facilities across the country.
He said the Church had established four Intensive Care Units, two Cardiac Diagnostic Centres and distributed ambulances to correctional facilities in the country.
In his remarks, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer, RCCG, said the gesture was in line with the practice and teachings of Christianity and Jesus Christ.
Adeboye, who was represented by Pastor Julius Fula of the RCCG Region 17, said the foundation has been providing support to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), scholarships and assisted persons globally during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Patients will rejoice to access quality healthcare services. This kind of gesture will continue to come up as a significant health benefit in human lives,” he said.
Also speaking, Dr Jibrin Yusuf, Chief Medical Director, ATBUTH, said that RCCG had donated three modern dialysis equipment, chairs and power generator, to ensure steady power supply during dialysis sessions.
Yusuf commended the gesture, adding that it would enhance access to dialysis care in the hospital.
“Dialysis is a lifesaving support procedure to patients. The gesture will complement services provided by the tertiary health institutions and reduce overstretching of existing equipment,” he said.
