RCCG’s Pastor Toyin Laoye celebrates late mom, Madam Sophia Faniyan, in Ibadan, Nigeria
Ibadan, capital of Oyo State, Nigeria, on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, knew that a great woman, Madam Sophia Mojisola Faniyan (nee Shotiyo), who was intimately associated with the city, has joined the saints triumphant, leaving behind a glorious legacy of love for God and humanity.
On that fateful day, a high profile Celebration of Life programme was held at the Gallani Hotel, Suites & Banquets in the Jericho GRA area of the city, in honour of Madam Faniyan, the mother of Pastor (Dr.) Toyin Laoye, Pastor-in-charge, Dominion Cathedral, Region 15, the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), The Americas 1.
Madam Faniyan had passed on in New Jersey, United States of America (USA) at the age of 91 and was committed to mother earth on October 11, 2024 in the Garden State with much fanfare, including the proclamation of October 11 as Sophia Mojisola Faniyan Day by Mayor Dwayne D. Warren, Esq., the Mayor of the City of Orange, New Jersey, USA.
On December 17, 2024 in Ibadan, family, relatives, friends and associates from far and near came together to celebrate and honour Madam Faniyan with a colourful event that has left many lasting glorious memories in the minds of all those that were privileged to be part of the Reception.
