The recent comment on His Excellency, Mr. Peter Obi (PO), by Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State during his Channels Television interview speaks volumes.
Governor Soludo may not mean anything bad, but he sounds like it! After all, if Peter Obi becomes President of Nigeria come 2023, how then can a Soludo become President of South East extraction after his tenure as Governor?
Whatever may have informed Governor Soludo’s statement that PO’s investments as Governor is worth next to nothing seems self-serving and a failed de-marketing from somebody who should have known better to exercise discretion.
With one side of the mouth, Governor Soludo had lamented on assumption of office that his immediate predecessor in office left no money but huge debt burden for him and now with another side of the same mouth condemned the one who left money and investment for the successor to take off with! What manner of double speak on same matter?
Governor Soludo may well take note that a person with the covering of the Almighty cannot be disparaged without consequences.
An attack on a carrier of grace often attracts disgrace.
A Reverend Father of South East Igbo extraction attacked grace and was disgraced and consigned to irrelevance.
A prominent politician of South East Igbo extraction attacked grace and ended up in prison with his wife abroad unexpectedly at the peak of his political career!
So, Governor Soludo should beware of the danger of the tongue and face the job for which he was elected Governor!
