Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko has registered his deepest condolences to the families of 28 persons who died after their boat capsized at Dundaye river, Wamakko local government area of Sokoto state.
Wamakko, who described the tragic incident as heartbreaking, however admonished the locals to take solace in the Almighty God who gives and takes lives.
A statement by the Senator’s spokesperson, Bashar Abubakar said there is the need for extra caution while using the river especially now that it has overflowed it’s banks because of heavy downpours.
While praying for speedy recovery for those who were rescued, Senator Wamakko appeal for prayers for those whose lives were cut short as a result of the boat mishap.
Recall that the wooden canoe was said to have been over loaded with people who were on their way to their farms on Sunday morning, when the canoe suddenly capsized while it was in the middle of the river, resulting to the death of many.
